Gilman’o Hur Jinn’o Malak Ins’o Wahsh’o Tair, In Mein Se Kon Hai Jo Tera Madh Khwan Nahin

Qurbana; a word in the Pashto language referred to someone you’d sacrifice your life for. That is how Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin RA is remembered by the Pashtuns who are in luck to have met him.

The year 1996 was the last time Burhanuddin Moula RA visited Quetta. It was a visit, which has become a part of our very existence. It will never part from us.

During the visit, mumineen of Quetta were blessed to host a picnic for Him RA at Hanan guesthouses.

In one instance, Burhanuddin Moula RA was calmly seated on the balcony of the guest house with a few mumineen around him.

In the meanwhile, I saw a Pashtun in possession of a Chakor (the national bird of Pakistan). I instantly closed in on him perceiving the opportunity of carrying the bird to Moula RA.

It is worth mentioning that the Chakor is considered as a sacred bird by the Pashtuns. It is rarely sold, and usually, the Pashtuns who own it, do not let it out of their sight.

Here, the Pashtun readily handed over the bird to me.

I held on to the bird and presented it to Burhanuddin Moula RA. “Moula aa chakor che” I uttered. Moula RA took a look at the bird and offered a smile. Before I could say anything more, someone from the scene mentioned; “Moula aanu gosht ghanu lazeez hoi che”.

Moula RA attended the person, rounded his gaze back to me and stated with a beaming smile on his face; “khaiye to khabar parhe ke kitnu lazeez che”. Despite everyone around reacted with a giggle, I was tensed. Having had done what Moula RA wished for was a bit of a task.

The Pashtun had witnessed everything that had happened.

As I handed the Chakor back to him, I somehow managed to mention Moula’s RA desire of savouring the bird. I was certain of his denial. Surprisingly, he pulled a knife out of his pocket and cut the bird open. I was struck dumb. He instructed me to have the bird broiled and presented to Moula RA.

Following a short while, I presented the Chakor to Burhanuddin Moula RA. The instant He RA saw the bird, He exclaimed; “Hamna to jeewtu laya tha”The bliss was evident.

Moula RA extended his hath mubarak and took a morsel of the Chakor. All eyes were on him. Everyone including myself expected that Moula RA would describe the savour of the Chakor. Instead, He RA chose to express his delight in an unexpected way. He RA stated; “aa Chakor Bhai Mufaddal ne apo”

It has been twenty-two years since the happening. Things have changed. Yet, somethings last forever. Above is a perfect exemplar.

Today, as we celebrate His RA Milaad Mubarak, we know that He RA is still with us.

I say this the same way I used to say before; Moula Mubarak, Moula Mubarak.

But yes, today, my eyes tear.

Ye Mera Kaba’e Deen Rukh Kare Jidhar Apna, Banu Mein Qibla Numa Rukh Karu Udhar Apna

Round the clock, we hear miracles of Moula, accounts of His supreme virtues, and memoirs of His absolute righteousness. Upholding it as our faith, we believe in it. But being a part of it yourself elevates your trust and belief to a completely different level.

Syedna Taher Saifuddin’s RA wafat happened in the year I was born. I heard His RA marvels and miracles throughout my childhood. Later, I understood that He RA was our family. However, I had never experienced what I heard. To put it in an another way, I was unlucky up until then.

In the year 1995/1416 H, I traveled for Umrah. It was 14th of Rajab and a Wednesday.

I was performing tawaf on the niyyat of Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA, when I caught the sight of several supervisors and caretakers of Baitullah, heading their way inside. When I inquired about the cause, I was told that Baitullah is being washed and cleansed from the inside.

I still do not know why it occurred to me, but I uttered while my eyes closed; “taher saifuddin moula, aapna ghana ma’ajiz suna che, aap har dua suno cho, aaje aap koi ehwo mojizo dekhawye, ke mane baitullah ma dakhli naseeb thai”.

Just as I had finished my words, I started to sense an unusual commotion around. I felt my self getting closer to the baab of Baitullah. As the rush upsurged, I tried to pull myself back.

Suddenly, to my astonishment, a lady supervisor miraculously appeared and held my hand. Cutting me through the crowd, she towed me from the far end to the very step of the door of Kaba and pushed me in.

I was stunned.

It was just a minute ago, when I was pleading Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA for something which I felt was impossible to happen. It actually was. I saw no one except the ones who were designated to enter Kaba for its wash. Moreover, I saw the expression on the face of the lady supervisor who pulled me in. She was totally baffled about what she had done.

As everyone outside was trying to get in, the door closed, and I was blessed with sharaf of being inside Kaba for about 40 minutes.

Some might phrase this as a co-incidence, but I know, it was Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA who did it.

His Ra Milaad Mubarak and the day when Kaba descended on earth happens to occur in the same month. I witnessed the connection.

Teri Nigah’e Inayat Khuda Kare Na Phire, Kuch Iska Gum Nahi’n Gar Mujhse Sab Jaha’n Phir Ja’e

Burhanuddin Moula RA was present in Karachi in 1425H, when He RA bestowed the city with the celebrations of his 93rd milaad. On the occasion, there was a program organized by madrasa farzando in Taheri Masjid. Everyone participated in different activities and acts, which were going to take place in front of Moulana RA.

I was required to perform as a pigeon, and all I had to do was to keep moving my wings throughout an act.

Amidst our act, I prayed; “moula aap mari taraf aik nazar farmawo”.

That very instant, to everyone’s astonishment, Moulana RA pointed towards me, and asked me to get near him in the midst of the skit.

What happened next was something I will never forget – Moulana RA placed his haath mubarak on my head, and inquired my name and my parents names. Upon that, amongst hundreds of children, I was fortunate to perform qadambosi.

No one present was able to apprehend the unexpected scene, as Moula RA heard what my heart entreated.

Tujhe Dekh Kar Khush Hote The, Wallah Uhibboka Kehte The, Ab Kaise Sahe Ghaibat Moula, Hum Tumko Bhula Na Paenge

Burhanuddin Moula RA blessed Karachi with the celebratios of His 93rd Milaad Mubarak.

There was a Milaad program set-up by children in Taheri Masjid. I was a part of it as a Burhani Scout’s member who managed the event.

Fortunately, I was assigned an area close to the ramp from which Moula RA was going to progress to the masjid. I was delighted. I sat there, accompanying a few other children, waiting for Moulana RA to arrive.

Just as Moulana RA alighted, I was on my feet looking at his Chehra Mubarak.

The moment when Moulana RA passed the area where I was seated, I cried out loud; “inni wallahe uhibboka ya moula”.

Moulana RA turned and looked at me. I could feel the spiritual power of his sight as he observed me from neck to toe.

I was startled. Did Moula RA hear me?

It wasn’t over yet. The next day in the Wa’az Mubarak – Moula RA said: “mein dhekhoon chun ke chota chota farzando mane dekhi ne inni wallahe uhibboka pukare che – mein ghano khush thao chun”.

I was overjoyed to be one of them.

Nigaah’e Lutf Ho Jis Shakhs Pe Teri Uske, Din Juda Phirte Hain Taqdeer Juda Phirti Hai

Something historic was going to happen. The 100th Milaad was just around the corner.

People all around the world were arranging for their pilgrimage towards Mumbai. Every heart had only one prayer, may I be a part of history?

I was one of them.

As being a Pakistani national, I was having trouble in getting the Indian visa. It looked beyond the bounds of possibilities that I would be able to attend Milaad.

Depressed, disheartened and upset, nothing was going right for me. I wept. I remembered Burhanuddin Moula RA as the only hope.

One night, I saw Moulana RA in my dream. I presented him the araz of what I was going through – to which Moulana RA replied : “mari 100mi milaad che – aney taney aawanu chey”.

The next day, I was granted the visa.

Naa’ibe Mushkil Kusha Ho Khalq Ke Haajat Rawa, Sab Ko Aafat Se Bachana Koi Tum Se Seekh Jaae

Burhanuddin Moula RA was present in Karachi at the time of his 93rd Milaad Mubarak, an event that was reported in all local newspapers.

On the second day of Moulas RA arrival, while I was on my way to the office, I asked the Baloch driver of my three-wheeler rickshaw to give me the newspaper he had. My reaction when I read the headlines on the city killings was: ‘Oh my God’ The driver asked, ‘Kya hua, bhai?’ I informed him what I read, with some alarm.

He smiled and replied, ‘ab sab theek hoga kiyunke peeron key peer aa gaye hai.’ I asked him ‘Who?’ He replied, ‘Bohra peer.’ Moulana Mohammad Burhanuddin RA he meant.

I pressed him further and he told me this story:

“In Chakiwara, where I live, there was a family who lost their son. They did everything to ascertain his whereabouts – without success. Then one of their Bohra friends advised them to write an application that could be delivered to Burhanuddin Moula’s RA  residence in Karachi. A few days later a reply was delivered. Moula RA gave the family of the lost boy, a tasbeeh to recite daily. Three days later, their son returned. The family was overjoyed. They told their Bohra friend that they would like to express their gratitude to Moulana RA.

The mumin bhai went to Burhani Mahal with his friend’s family for didar. When the boy saw Aqa Moula RA he abruptly shouted ‘This is the man who escorted me home’.

Till we returned back, I could see their tears flowing.

Kyun Na Dilchasp Ho Taqreer Shahe’wala Ki, Lutf So’ Tarah Ka Jab Aik Sukhun Se Nikle

In 1425, Burhanuddin Moula RA was present in Karachi for his 93rd milaad. Mumineen converged from near and far with different araa’iz and hadaaya on behalf of their respective cities.

We went from Qahera with a 93″ inch cake weighing 93 kgs built around the concept of a world map with an ayat from the Quran in-scripted on it.

The theme: Burhanuddin Moula RA would save us in this world.

Now when the cake was presented to Moulana RA, the Qasre-aali saahebo around him explained to him the theme. Someone said, “Moula, 93 kgs nu cake chhey’ and Moula RA asked to verify. Then Shehzada Taha bhaisaheb Najmuddin DM asked my father to submit a proper araz.

My father fumbled and quite inexplicably did not know what to say and he ended up saying “Moula aap aa dunya si chhuraawnaar chho!”.

Moulana RA called him closer, put his hand on my father’s hand and said, “Yahaan aawo! Tamne kahu chhu, na, tamne kahu chhu..tamein tamaam aalam-e-imaan ma mumineen taraf si mane mubarakbaadi araz karo chho!”

Small instance, but Moula RA taught us how to submit an araz in the proper way by rephrasing the theme; it also shows how He RA always had mumineen in his thoughts; he then smiled and had a spoonful of cake.

Aapka Chehra Hum Dekhte The, Aapka Haath Hum Choomtey The, Sar Qadam Mei Tumharey Jhukaa kar, Saare Ranj o Alam Bhoolte the, Aaj Turbat Mei Jalwa Numa Ho, Kaise Bhoolain Burhan ul Huda Ko.

During the 75th Milaad Mubarak of Burhanuddin Moula RA, I was in the queue for qadambosi in Adam Masjid (Karachi). When my turn came, I performed the qadambosi and just at that instant a Mumin bhai submitted an araz, Maula RA attended to him, I was not given a tashreef and was promptly removed from the queue.

As I turned, my first thought was: why did Maula RA not give me the tashreef? Had I sinned?

I must have been some few steps away when I heard Aqa Moula’s voice: “Aa tari tashreef to le” and He RA, passed a ‘rumaal’ towards me.

Being young, I didn’t think much, except that I was happy to recieve the tashreef.

Being older, I now realize that how my Maula RA always kept a watchful eye on every mumin.

Wherever. However.
